Women History-Richardson Signs Training Camp Deal with Minnesota Lynx

DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke women’s basketball player Reigan Richardson has inked a training camp contract with the Minnesota Lynx, the organization announced Wednesday.

A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Richardson started all 37 games for the Blue Devils during the 2024-25 campaign while helping lead the Duke to its third consecutive 20-win season (29-8), ninth ACC Tournament title and 12th Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The senior averaged 9.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while ranking second on the team in total minutes (1,011) and assists (89).

Tapped the Associated Press National Player of the Week (Dec. 3) and ACC Co-Player of the Week (Dec. 2), Richardson reached double figures 16 times on the year with a pair of 20-point games, including a career-high 35 points in the 109-99 win over No. 8 Oklahoma – the most by a Blue Devil all-time against a top-10 opponent. She recorded five-plus assists in four games, including a collegiate-best 10 dimes over Wofford (Dec. 18).

In three seasons with the Blue Devils, Richardson started 97-of-104 games while averaging 9.7 points on 41-percent shooting, 2.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists. She helped lead the Blue Devils to 77 victories, three consecutive 20-win seasons and three straight NCAA Tournament appearances – including the 2024 Sweet Sixteen and 2025 Elite Eight – and one ACC championship.

The senior eclipsed the 1,000-point threshold – both individually and at Duke – during the 2024-25 campaign, achieving the respective feats against Pittsburgh (Jan. 5) and South Carolina (Mar. 30). Richardson concluded her career with 1,174 total points and scored 1,004 of those at Duke – becoming the 36th player all-time to surpass the benchmark as a Blue Devil.
