Dallas selected Texas running back Jaydon Blue with the 149th overall selection. Blue is no stranger to the Lone Star State, growing up in the Houston area.The Texas RB-to-NFL pipeline stays strong

Texas has a well-known history of sending its running backs to the NFL. Blue kept the tradition going in 2025.

 

Since 2023, five Texas running backs have heard their names called in the NFL draft. Blue joins a group that includes Bijan Robinson, Roschon Johnson, Keilan Robinson and Jonathon Brooks.

 

3. Wasn’t the only Klein Cain standout drafted in 2025

Before landing at Texas, Blue built his skills up at Klein Cain High School near Houston. He wasn’t the only Klein Cain product selected in the 2025 draft.

 

Blue teamed up with Matthew Golden in high school. Golden, another former Texas star, was selected in the first round by the Green Bay Packers.
