BREAKING NEWS: West Ham United is looking for a manager with similar qualities to Unai Emery.

West Ham are keen on a Unai Emery-esque manager to replace David Moyes should the Scot leave in the summer.

According to Football Insider, West Ham are considering an Unai Emery-esque manager to replace David Moyes in the summer. The Scot still has an offer on the table from the Hammers, but the club are planning on seeking alternatives should the current gaffer depart.

West Ham seek Unai Emery-esque manager?

Unai Emery has made a bold statement at Aston Villa and has continued with his impressive streak at slightly different clubs. The Spaniard did not click at bigger sides like Arsenal or PSG but has a tremendous track record at teams like Sevilla, Villarreal and now Villa.

Emery’s quick turnaround at a club like Villa in over 18 months has seen the Birmingham-based side return to Europe after a long time, and this season, they are contenders for the top four. The Basque boss is seen as a role model by many young and upcoming managers, as West Ham now seeks someone similar to the Villa boss.

West Ham has an idea of who they want their next manager to be like as they seek an Emery-esque gaffer to replace David Moyes. There are no suggestions that the club are planning on sacking the Scot, although he has come under tremendous pressure following recent results.

Moyes reportedly has a contract offer on the table from the Hammers, although he still needs to sign it. With his current deal running out in the summer, there are chances he could walk away after many years at the London side. West Ham would like to stay prepared for any scenario, as they could begin shortlisting potential names to replace the Scot.

Should West Ham get rid of Moyes?

Moyes hasn’t been the most entertaining of managers in the Premier League, but his track record with West Ham speaks volumes. He has consistently kept them in European competition and did win the Europa Conference League last season. Yet, there are names like Julen Lopetegui linked with replacing him, as some sections of the fan base are not keen on Moyes’s brand of football.

Graham Potter is another name on their list, with the former Brighton and Chelsea boss spotted at various venues this season. Neither are anywhere close to or similar to the former Arsenal manager Emery, who is the type of boss West Ham seeks.
