We Need Him Back: Houston Astros fans reaction after José Altuve was suspended indefinitely today for…

Once a major power in baseball, the Houston Astros are currently going through a crisis. Fans are starting to question if they’re headed for disaster after the team’s dismal 17-7 start, which ranks among the worst in franchise history at this point in the season. However, Jose Altuve, a veteran of the Astros, sees things differently.

Even the eternally upbeat Altuve, who has been a key component of the Astros’ recent success, appears to be hanging on by a thread. “We still have that team,” he declared, addressing the strength the Astros had possessed. Manager Joe Espada echoed his remarks. Despite their belief in their team’s ability to win, they may be finding it difficult to recover from this season’s disappointing performance.

There are numerous factors contributing to the Astros’ problems. Their pitching staff has been severely damaged by injuries, especially with major stars like Framber Valdez out of the picture. The bullpen, which was before dependable, is now kind of a problem because of its lower-than-league save percentage. The squad is having trouble converting on scoring opportunities offensively, leaving an alarming amount of runners on base.

There’s no denying the talent on paper, for one thing. Conversely, the Astros’ shallow roster is starting to show quite clearly. The clutch performer feels that they aren’t getting the reinforcements they require from their farm system, which has long been seen as a weakness. In addition, veteran Alex Bregman—who was formerly a strong hitter—is going through serious slumps right now.
