Virginia Tech has added a key piece to its secondary with the commitment of cornerback Caleb Brown, a transfer from the University of Hawaii. Brown, who announced his decision on April 26, 2025, brings experience and depth to the Hokies’ defensive backfield as he enters his final year of eligibility.
Brown is a 6-foot-1, 160-pound defensive back originally from Lithia Springs High School in Georgia. His college journey began at Kennesaw State before moving to Butler Community College, and eventually spending two seasons with the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. During his time at Hawaii, Brown played in 23 games, recording 43 tackles and 14 pass breakups.
His addition comes at a critical time for Virginia Tech, which is working to strengthen its secondary ahead of the 2025 season. Brown will join fellow recent transfers Joseph Reddish and Isaiah Brown-Murray, competing for playing time alongside returning junior Dante Lovett and several incoming freshmen.
With his experience and proven ability in pass coverage, Brown is expected to make an immediate impact for the Hokies.
