Late in Michigan State basketball’s dismantling of archrival Michigan on Sunday during senior day, Michigan State players attempted to conduct their senior day tradition of having the seniors kiss the midcourt logo. Two Michigan players tried to stand on the Spartan logo, blocking MSU’s seniors, when Tre Holloman stepped in.Holloman took matters into his own hands, moving the Michigan players himself, causing a skirmish. Holloman talked about the skirmish and his perspective of the events, but while talking about what happened, Holloman shared a neat tidbit.
Holloman shared two Spartan point guard legends had already contacted him: Mateen Cleaves and Cassius Winston shared their thanks and approval of Holloman defending the Spartans’ tradition.
The close bond Michigan State has, both past and present, always shows up within this program, and it did once again on Sunday.
