On Saturday, the Gamecocks earned a commitment from twins Aiden and Andrew Harris — a pair of four-star defensive linemen out of Weddington High School in Matthews, North Carolina, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. The duo told Phil Kornblut recently that not only would they sign together, but that they had already made up their mind — which was especially shocking considering they still had their three official visits lined up: South Carolina (June 6), Auburn (June 13) and NC State (June 20). The two brothers posted pictures of their visit to USC on Saturday. Of course, it makes sense the Harrises coming to their decision led straight into their Gamecocks pledge.
If something were to go wrong, I just know they will be there for me,” Aiden Harris said of the USC coaches. “There’s no if, ands or buts about it. I’ve got faith in them. They’ve got faith in me. It will be good to be surrounded by them day by day and having them develop me.” Aiden Harris is top prospect of the two. A 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive lineman, the 247Sports Composite rankings slotted him as the 52nd-best prospect in America and the No. 5 defensive lineman. After a junior season that included 82 tackles, 31 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks, Aiden was named the Charlotte Observer’s 4A Player of the Year.
Andrew Harris wasn’t too far behind, compiling 81 tackles, 25 tackles for loss and 7 sacks. A 6-foot-2, 235-pound prospect, Andrew is ranked as a Top-350 player nationally and the 41st-best defensive lineman in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings. The Harris twins join three-star edge Keenan Britt and four-star cornerback J’Zavien Currence as the four defensive players South Carolina has pledged in the Class of 2026.
