Tottenham could be tempted to take a leaf out of Arsenal’s book and continue their pursuit of one of Ajax’s most exciting youngsters, Gabriel Misehouy. Spurs have been linked with the teenager previously, and they could have the key to unlock negotiations for the 18-year-old.
Ange Postecoglou made it no secret heading into the January transfer window that he needs reinforcements, and his demands are being adhered to. With Spurs lacking depth in the final third, Timo Werner has arrived on a loan deal from RB Leipzig with the option of making the move permanent at the end of the campaign.
Radu Dragusin has also been signed from Genoa to provide an alternative option in defence, and the attention in north London is now turning to other departments. Tottenham are in the market for another midfielder, with Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher admired.
However, they could be tempted to use wantaway defensive midfielder Pierre-Emile Hjojberg as part of a deal for alternatives. The Denmark international has been heavily linked with a move to Ajax this month, and a swap deal could provide both clubs with their targets.
Tottenham News report that Spurs are among the sides interested in Ajax talent Misehouy, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. The teen has not made a senior appearance for the Eredivisie outfit but is a very highly-rated talent.
Ajax are desperate to retain the services of the midfielder and view him as a smart prospect for the future, though Spurs will be hoping to pounce on the vulnerability of his situation. Tottenham could look to negotiate a deal that would see Misehouy join the club with Hjojberg – a known Ajax target – heading in the opposite direction.
Numerous clubs have an eye on the talents emerging at the Dutch club, and their poor form this season is sparking confidence elsewhere that important players can have their heads turned. Ex-Spurs forward Steven Bergwijn, their top goalscorer, is one player who could be on the move soon.
