Toney Sets the Record Straight: Former Florida Gator Puts Retirement Rumors to Rest”

Kadarius Toney, the former Florida Gator and NFL wide receiver, has put the retirement rumors to rest. After being bombarded with speculation that he was hanging up his cleats to focus on his music career as a rapper, known as Yung Joka, Toney took to Instagram to clarify the situation.

In a statement, Toney wrote, “Goofies on the net hollerin I’m retiring. Just want klout. Ain’t speakin on the [poop emoji] nomo… Love da attention for my musik tho. It’s been a passion.” This response suggests that Toney is not retiring from football just yet and is instead using the attention to promote his music.

Toney’s NFL career has been a rollercoaster ride, marked by both impressive moments and controversy. As a first-round pick in the 2021 draft, he showed promise with the New York Giants, catching 39 passes for 420 yards in his rookie year. However, injuries and inconsistent play led to his trade to the Kansas City Chiefs, where he won two Super Bowl rings. Despite this success, Toney’s tenure with the Chiefs ended with his release before the 2024 season.

The wide receiver has also faced personal struggles, including an arrest in February for aggravated assault, which may have contributed to the speculation about his retirement. Nevertheless, Toney’s statement indicates that he is not done with football, and his future in the sport remains uncertain.
