Given Arsenal’s previous struggles in front of goal, a clinical striker like Toney may be just what Mikel Arteta’s team needs to break through this latest slump.
However, speaking on Wrighty’s House, Arsenal great Wright claimed that Brentford will not want to trade Toney this month, as the forward is likely to return.
Indeed, Brentford’s problems in the Premier League mean that they will want to preserve as much firepower as possible, and keeping Toney would be huge for the club.
Wright went on to say: “I don’t think they will [sign a striker] and I’m not sure who they would get because people are talking about Ivan Toney, Brentford are going to need him back, why are they going to sell him in January?”
