Today, Fabrizio Romano used his blog on Caughtoffside to “clarify” the transfer rumors surrounding Aaron Ramsdale joining Chelsea.
That looks to imply that Romano is dismissing the rumors totally. Despite rumors to the contrary, he claims that Chelsea has never been interested in signing Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech.

These stories keep coming back, especially after Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was injured.” “However, I’m told that Ramsdale isn’t on Chelsea’s radar, and there are no plans to sign the Arsenal goalkeeper.”
That is pretty much as we expected. Ever since we moved for Robert Sanchez, the strategy seems to have been clear. The Spaniard is a solid player who is ready to play and can take the team on while youngsters like Djordje Petrovic (who has already impressed with Sanchez out injured)are developed.
Unless a superstar comes onto the market or Sanchez turns into a total disaster, Chelsea are not going to be pumping more money into the team in goal. Ramsdale would cost a lot, and would not even be a guaranteed upgrade on Sanchez – just ask an Arsenal fan.
