The Vikings Have New Speed Demons

The Minnesota Vikings have indeed added some notable speed to their roster through recent acquisitions in free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft. While they haven’t signed track and field athletes directly to play football, they have focused on players with demonstrated high-end speed.

Here’s a breakdown of the “speed demons” who have joined the Vikings:

* Rondale Moore (WR): Acquired via trade in the offseason, Moore boasts an impressive 40-yard dash time of 4.29 seconds. His speed is a significant asset as a receiver and potential returner.

* Isaiah Rodgers (CB): Another offseason addition, Rodgers ran a blazing 4.28-second 40-yard dash. The Vikings are counting on this speed to translate into strong coverage ability at cornerback.

* Tai Felton (WR): An undrafted free agent signing after the 2025 draft, Felton reportedly ran a 4.37-second 40-yard dash. He’ll be competing for a roster spot, and his speed could make him a valuable asset in the slot or on special teams.

* Silas Bolden (WR): Another undrafted free agent, Bolden clocked a 4.38-second 40-yard dash. His quickness and versatility could help him carve out a role, potentially as a return specialist.

* Myles Price (WR): Signed as an undrafted free agent on Wednesday, May 1, 2025, Price ran a 4.39-second 40-yard dash. This further emphasizes the Vikings’ focus on adding speed to their receiving corps.

General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has emphasized adding playmakers with speed throughout the offseason. These additions aim to inject explosiveness into the offense and special teams units.

It’s important to note that while these players possess impressive straight-line speed, their success in the NFL will depend on various other factors, including route running, catching ability, football IQ, and overall athleticism. However, the emphasis on speed indicates a clear strategy by the Vikings’ front office as they build their roster for the 2025 season.
