Michigan-Ohio State TV channel set for Nov. 29 rivalry game.
Perhaps the most important college football game of the regular season now has its TV channel.
When Michigan hosts Ohio State for “The Game” on Nov. 29, it will be televised on Fox, the network announced May 12.
The Wolverines, who are set to host the Buckeyes in Ann Arbor at The Big House, have won four consecutive games in the rivalry, each seemingly more impressive than the last.The streak began in 2021, when U-M ended a decade-long winless drought when it pummeled the Buckeyes 42-27 in a game that looked like a snow globe behind five touchdowns from Hassan Haskins.
In 2022, J.J. McCarthy led U-M into the horseshoe when he threw three touchdowns and ran for another, but it was Donovan Edwards who stole the show. The then-sophomore ball carrier ran 22 times for 215 yards including a pair of touchdowns of 75 yards or longer to help U-M win 45-23. It was the first time Michigan defeated OSU in Columbus in more than 20 years.On the next play, Blake Corum ripped off a 22-yard touchdown run and immediately flashed a six and a five with his hands at the camera, representing Zinter’s number 65.
Michigan never looked back and while Ohio State had the ball in U-M territory with a chance to win in the final minutes, safety Rod Moore came away with an interception to seal the 30-24 victory.Then, in 2023, Michigan and Ohio State again played for a spot in the Big Ten Championship game. It was a back-and-forth affair, which saw a solemn moment in the third quarter when guard Zak Zinter broke his leg and had to be carted off the field and taken to the hospital.Michigan went on to win the national championship six weeks later.
But of all the games in recent memory, the 2024 rendition was likely the most shocking. Michigan entered as more than three-touchdown underdogs. However, the Wolverines stunned the Buckeyes, 13-10.
