a monumental recruiting victory, the Duke Blue Devils have secured a commitment from Cooper Flagg, the nation’s No. 1 high school basketball prospect. Flagg, a 6-foot-9 forward from Newport, Maine, chose Duke over Tennessee, BYU, and Michigan, marking a significant addition to the Blue Devils’ already impressive 2024 recruiting class.

Flagg’s decision to join Duke immediately elevated the program’s recruiting class to the top of national rankings. During his lone season at Duke, Flagg lived up to the hype, averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. His outstanding performance earned him numerous accolades, including National Player of the Year, ACC Player of the Year, and consensus first-team All-American honors . Flagg’s leadership propelled the Blue Devils to a Final Four appearance, solidifying his status as a transformative player for the program.

Following his stellar freshman campaign, Flagg declared for the 2025 NBA Draft and is widely projected to be the No. 1 overall pick, with the Dallas Mavericks holding the top selection .
