Pope attributes Jaxson Robinson’s leadership for the Wildcats’ resurgence
The Kentucky Wildcats were facing a tough challenge on Tuesday night as they prepared to take on the 8th-ranked Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville.

“It began three days earlier, after we suffered that tough loss at Vanderbilt. When we finish games, the players usually have a few minutes together before we meet as a coaching staff. By the time we got to the locker room, Jaxson was still going strong. He was rallying the team, reminding them about our mission and how we all fit together. He emphasized the importance of depending on each other, the high standard we’ve set, and the expectations we have as a team.”
Pope continued, emphasizing that Robinson’s words were not meant to criticize or blame anyone. Rather, his approach was to reaffirm the team’s goals and remind everyone of the standard they must strive for.

“If you could trace the origin of Jaxson Robinson’s stellar performance against Tennessee, you’d have to start in that somber locker room three nights earlier,” Pope added.
