The Denver Broncos made a significant addition to their roster by selecting Que Robinson in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Robinson, an outside linebacker from Alabama, brings a combination of special teams prowess and intriguing potential as a pass rusher.
During his time with the Crimson Tide, Robinson showcased his ability to be a disruptive force on special teams, racking up 16 tackles in the last two years alone. This immediately addresses a crucial aspect of the Broncos’ team, providing them with a dedicated and athletic contributor in the kicking game. General Manager George Paton expressed his excitement about this aspect of Robinson’s game, highlighting his speed, length, and relentless motor.
Beyond special teams, the Broncos see considerable upside in Robinson as a rising talent at outside linebacker. While his defensive snaps at Alabama were limited (around 370), the flashes he displayed, particularly in his senior year before an elbow injury, were enough to convince the Broncos of his potential. In just nine games in 2024, Robinson led the team with four sacks and also recorded seven tackles for loss.
Paton noted that the Broncos have been tracking Robinson for several years and believe he is ready to break out at the professional level. Robinson himself is eager to contribute wherever the team needs him, emphasizing his excitement to help the Broncos win.
The Broncos’ outside linebacker room already features established players like Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper, along with other contributors. However, Robinson’s blend of special teams expertise and pass-rushing potential offers a unique dimension to the group. He could immediately become a core special teams player while developing his skills as an edge rusher, potentially competing for snaps as a rotational pass rusher.
Despite missing part of his senior season due to injury, Robinson has indicated that his recovery is progressing well. His addition represents a calculated risk with the potential for a high reward, as the Broncos have landed a player who can contribute immediately on special teams and offers significant developmental upside on defense. Many draft analysts believe Robinson could be one of the steals of the Broncos’ 2025 draft class.
