Re-signing Davion Mitchell should be a priority for Heat Off-Season
During exit interviews, Mitchell shared his thoughts on his future.
“I don’t know what the future holds,” Mitchell said. “I’m not going to try and get into that, but I had an amazing time here. I love my teammates, love the coaching staff, and love the adversity we went through. We accomplished something no one has ever done before, being the tenth seed getting in the playoffs.”
Re-Sign Davion Mitchell to a 3-Year $43M Extension
Mitchell is essential to what Miami is building and is still only 26 years old. In 6 postseason games, he averaged 15.2 Pts and 6.5 Ast on 69.4 TS%. In his last 20 games of the season, he averaged 13.1 Pts, 6.4 Ast, and 1.4 Stl on 63.9 TS% and elite defense. With his work ethic under Miami’s system, he could become a star in his role and become a very similar player to prior defensive playmaking PGs crucial to deep postseason runs such as Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, and Rajon Rondo.
