Texas Longhorns to Honor Mia Scott with Statue at Red & Charline McCombs Field
The Texas Longhorns Softball program is set to immortalize one of its most iconic players. The university has officially unveiled a sample statue honoring standout third baseman Mia Scott, with plans to begin full installation in the coming months.
Scott, widely regarded as one of the best to ever wear burnt orange, made her mark with elite defense, clutch hitting, and leadership that helped elevate Texas to national prominence. During her career, she was known not only for her highlight-reel plays at third base but also for delivering key hits in the biggest moments.
The statue is expected to be placed outside Red & Charline McCombs Field, where fans will be able to honor Scott’s lasting legacy. According to university officials, installation work is scheduled to begin in late 2025, with the official unveiling ceremony to follow during the 2026 season.
Athletic Director Chris Del Conte called Scott a “program-changer” and said the statue represents “a tribute to greatness and the standard she helped set for Longhorn Softball.”
