According to a report from CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, Clark has been hired by the Longhorns to become their next outside linebackers coach. Clark confirmed the move with a social media post expressing gratitude for his time at Ohio State.
Over the past two seasons, Clark worked as a defensive line graduate assistant for the Buckeyes. Prior to his time at Ohio State, he coached at Prairie View A&M and Southern, where he gained significant experience training NFL defensive linemen, including Ed Oliver, Jeffrey Simmons, and Danielle Hunter. Clark played college football for Grambling State and Northwestern State.
Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Clark will now coach Texas’ outside linebackers, including Trey Moore, Ethan Burke, and Colin Simmons, who won the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award over Jeremiah Smith. Clark will also follow Ohio State defensive tackle Hero Kanu to Austin, as Kanu transferred to Texas last week after three seasons with the Buckeyes.
Clark’s departure is one of several from Ohio State’s coaching staff this offseason, following the exits of graduate assistant Mike Sollenne, offensive assistant Riley Larkin, defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, offensive line coach Justin Frye, and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.
