Tennessee Announces Appointment Viewing Event For One of Vols’ Most Loved Stars.
Zeigler spent four years in Knoxville and connected with the Tennessee fanbase through his unrelenting play on the court and his emotional, powerful story off the court. Proving that it’s about the size of the fight in the dog more than the size of the dog in the fight, Zeigler blew through barriers to become one of the most beloved Volunteers of the modern generation. The Long Island native finished his career as Tennessee’s all-time steals (251) and assists (747) leader.
The 5-foot-9 point guard started 83 of his 138 games on Rocky Top. Zeigler recorded 1,556 points, 747 assists, 356 rebounds, 231 three-pointers, 21 blocks, and 251 steals in 4,034 minutes of play for the Big Orange.
Tennessee Athletics and VFL Films are set to release a brand-new documentary about Zakai Zeigler on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
The documentary “Bet on Me” will premiere at 7:00 p.m. ET on the Tennessee Athletics YouTube channel.
A 48-second trailer accompanied the announcement this past weekend, with some special guests joining in. The trailer featured names such as HC Rick Barnes, former UT assistant Mike Schwartz, VFL Josiah-Jordan James, and Zakai’s mother, Charmane Zeigler.
