Former Ohio State Buckeyes and Penn State wide receiver Julian Fleming is in serious condition following a tragic ATV accident in Pennsylvania that claimed the life of his girlfriend, Alyssa Boyd. The incident occurred when the couple’s Yamaha quad collided with a deer, causing the vehicle to veer off the road. Neither Fleming nor Boyd was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Boyd, a 23-year-old University of Alabama student, suffered extensive injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Fleming, 24, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Guthrie Troy Community Hospital.
Fleming was a top high school football recruit from Pennsylvania, earning five-star status before committing to Ohio State in 2019. He played in 38 games for the Buckeyes, recording 80 receptions for 990 yards and seven touchdowns. After graduating in December 2023, he transferred to Penn State, where injuries limited his performance. Recently, Fleming signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent, but the team rescinded the contract after he failed a physical.
Authorities continue to investigate the accident, and updates on Fleming’s condition are awaited.
