Georgia in Great Shape to Land Multiple Star Playmakers After Landing Coveted QB.
It may not take long for the Jared Curtis effect to take hold for the Georgia Bulldogs.
The top quarterback in the 2026 class officially committed to the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Regardless of the level of football, nothing improves a program’s appeal like landing a premier quarterback talent, and the Bulldogs may be set to reap additional benefits from securing Curtis’ commitment.
Indeed, On3’s Steve Wiltfong wrote following news of Curtis’ decision to pick the Bulldogs over the Oregon Ducks that Georgia could be in a position to have the No. 1 recruiting class for 2026.And their efforts to push for that achievement could see them land two star playmakers at the same position.
A great tight end can be a tremendous safety net for a quarterback, and Wiltfong reports the Bulldogs are aiming to land two of the top players at that spot in the 2026 class.
He wrote: “[Kirby] Smart, [tight ends coach] Todd Hartley and the Bulldogs already landed one of their favorites at the position in four-star Lincoln Keyes out of Michigan. They have a great shot at two more. That starts with the country’s No. 2 tight end Mark Bowman. I think he’s as high on Georgia’s board as anyone it’s recruiting. UGA and Texas are battling heading into summer with Alabama, Oregon and USC rounding out the top five.
“The nation’s No. 3 tight end Kaiden Prothro has spent a lot of time at Georgia during his process including multiple stops this spring. This is another one where Texas among others is involved. Auburn, Florida and Alabama are in there as well.”
