KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Volunteers head coach Josh Heupel has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the Vols football program amid recent speculation and shifting dynamics in college football.
Following a rollercoaster offseason that included quarterback Nico Iamaleava’s high-profile departure over NIL disputes, Heupel made it clear that his loyalty to Rocky Top hasn’t wavered.
> “No one is ever bigger than the program, including me,” Heupel said during a media briefing. “My heart’s in Knoxville. I came here to build something sustainable and special—and we’re not done yet.”
Since taking over in 2021, Heupel has revitalized Tennessee’s football culture, leading the team to a historic 11–2 season in 2022 and their first College Football Playoff appearance in 2024. His innovative offense, sharp recruiting, and ability to weather adversity have earned him both fan admiration and national respect.
With a new quarterback battle brewing and a hungry roster ready to prove itself again, Heupel is laser-focused on what lies ahead.
