Recent reports circulating on social media claim that Nick Saban has signed a groundbreaking $105 million contract extension to remain with the University of Alabama as General Manager. However, these reports lack verification from reputable news outlets. Notably, Saban’s most recent contract extension was in June 2021, extending his tenure through the 2028 season. Currently, there is no credible information confirming a new contract or a change in his role to General Manager.
In fact, Nick Saban retired from his position as head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide in January 2024. He has since transitioned to a broadcasting role, joining ESPN’s College GameDay as an analyst.
While Saban has spoken about the increasing importance of general managers in college football, there is no evidence to suggest that he has taken on such a role at Alabama.
