Texas A&M is drawing ever nearer to the start of the 2025 season— a year in which they are dreaming pretty big. The Aggies had a lot of good going for them at the beginning of 2024, despite a high level of quarterback uncertainty— something which often wrecks seasons, as Aggie fans are painfully aware— but things went down the drain later on in the year.
The Ags again have a tough stretch down the back half of their schedule, but Aggie fans are hoping for more staying power for the Maroon and White in the upcoming year. With such a tough slate upcoming, it would be easy for the Aggies to make a case for the playoff with double-digit regular-season wins, as SEC Mike pointed out on X.The nice thing is that SEC Mike sees no sure losses for this squad on the schedule— only four toss-ups. If he’s right, and things are even, then that would lead to a 2-2 record in those four games— thus, giving the Aggies a playoff berth if things go that way.

Of course, Longhorn fans felt as though they needed to chime in on this projection. The key to the season is the offensive line that the Aggies bring back, but this one that SEC Mike responded to was refusing to acknowledge that.The last time the Aggies had an offensive line this experienced, they lost only one game in an all-SEC schedule. If the Ags exit this season with only one SEC loss, then they’ll be in prime shape for the playoffs.
With this level of experience and talent on the offensive line, the Aggies don’t need to lean extremely heavily on Reed. This high-level offensive front will actually make Reed far better, however
It’s the pass protection and rushing prowess of the Aggies that will dictate their offensive production in this upcoming year. Of course, as SEC Mike mentions above, it wasn’t the offense that was the issue last year— it was the defense. If Mike Elko gets that sorted out, then they’re in great shape.
