Sam Pittman Signs 10-Year Extension to Remain Arkansas Razorbacks Head Coach

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sam Pittman, the head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks football team, has signed a 10-year contract extension, solidifying his commitment to the program for the long term. The deal, announced by the university on Tuesday, will keep Pittman at the helm through the 2033 season, reinforcing the university’s trust in his leadership and vision for the future of the team.

Pittman, who took over as head coach in 2020, has rejuvenated a once-struggling program, leading the Razorbacks to consistent improvement and success in the competitive SEC. Under his guidance, Arkansas has posted several notable wins, including victories over top-ranked teams and a bowl appearance in 2021. His coaching philosophy, which emphasizes physicality, discipline, and a strong sense of team culture, has resonated with players and fans alike, building momentum toward a brighter future for the Razorbacks.

Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek expressed his full support for Pittman, praising his ability to develop both the talent and character of the student-athletes under his tutelage. “Sam has done an outstanding job of rebuilding this program, and this extension reflects our belief in his leadership and vision for continued success,” Yurachek said in a statement.

Pittman, who previously served as an assistant coach at several high-profile programs, including Georgia, has quickly become a fan favorite in Fayetteville due to his down-to-earth approach and commitment to the university. “I’m incredibly excited and thankful for the trust the University of Arkansas has shown in me,” Pittman said. “I’m committed to continuing to build something special here and bring championships back to Razorback fans.”
