After firing Steve Cooper, Nottingham Forest has named Nuno Espirito Santo as their new head coach.
The manager of Wolves and Tottenham in the past has reached an agreement to stay at The City Ground for two and a half years.
The Portuguese coach was fired after a dismal run of results when most recently managing Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.
On December 23, when they play Bournemouth at home in the league, Nuno will make his debut behind the bench.
Forest is five points above the relegation zone in the Premier League right now, in 17th place.
Cooper was fired after the team had lost five of his last six games. Cooper had won promotion in 2022, ending the team’s 23-year exile from the top division.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis stated: “His achievement in guiding Forest back will undoubtedly remain an iconic moment in the club’s history” despite removing Cooper from his responsibilities.”Steve will always remain a friend of the club and will always be welcome at the City Ground. As for their new coach, Nuno, a goalie by trade, began his career as a Rio Ave touchline coach and guided the Portuguese team to two cup finals and Europa League qualification.
