Once again, Draymond Green has garnered negative media attention. The seasoned forward was removed from the game during Wednesday’s (March 27) Golden State Warriors victory over the Orlando Magic, following a confrontation with referee Ray Acosta that resulted in two technical fouls.
But Fox Sports According to Rachel Nichols, Green’s importance to the Warriors—and particularly to Steph Curry—means that the front office will stick with the seasoned player even while he attempts to get past his present disciplinary problems. She pointed out that when Curry plays with Green, his numbers are notably higher.
This season, Green has been kicked out four times. He’s been suspended twice already. He needs to stay out of trouble and concentrate on helping the Warriors win. His stay in the Bay Area may be in peril if he keeps generating bad news and is asked to leave games.
Green is crucial to the Warriors, though, and his significance cannot be emphasized. He is the emotional leader of the group. He is a defensive talent of a generation. He also knows what it takes to be a champion. He should nonetheless tone down his behaviors. If not, there’s a chance that nothing else he offers will be worth the compromise.
