In one of the most electrifying races of the season, 19-year-old rookie sensation Ryder Maddox shocked the motocross world by clinching his first-ever 450SX Main Event win at Round 12 of the AMA Supercross series. The packed crowd at State Farm Stadium roared as Maddox crossed the finish line ahead of veterans like Eli Tomac and Chase Sexton, putting the entire championship race into chaos with just five rounds remaining.
Starting from the second gate, Maddox grabbed the holeshot and never looked back, holding off a hard-charging Jason Anderson in the final laps. His perfect blend of raw speed and fearless cornering had fans on their feet and commentators scrambling for superlatives.
“Ryder just lit the track on fire tonight,” said Supercross analyst Ricky Carmichael. “This wasn’t a fluke — this kid’s legit, and he’s now a real threat in this title fight.”
The victory catapulted Maddox to fourth in the overall standings, just 18 points behind leader Jett Lawrence, who finished a disappointing seventh after a rough crash in the rhythm section mid-race.
Off the track, Maddox kept it cool: “I’ve dreamed of this moment since I was a kid. It feels unreal. But this is just the beginning — I’m coming for more.”
Next up: the grueling sand and deep ruts of Foxborough. If Maddox’s rise continues, the 2025 Supercross season could go down as one of the most unpredictable in history.
