Rising Star Alert: Georgia Eyes Versatile Buford Playmaker Ethan Hauser 27 Recruiting Push
The pipeline from Buford to Athens isn’t just alive—it’s thriving. And it looks like the next name Bulldog fans need to remember is 27 athlete Ethan Hauser.
Hauser, a standout at powerhouse Buford High School, is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about young prospects in Georgia. Though still just a freshman, the 6’1”, 185-pound playmaker is already turning heads with his all-around athleticism, football IQ, and ability to impact the game in multiple ways.
This past season, Hauser contributed on both sides of the ball for a loaded Buford squad. On offense, he tallied over 600 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns, showcasing his speed and elusiveness in space. On defense, he showed great instincts and physicality, finishing with 30 tackles and 2 picks. Oh, and did we mention he returned a kickoff for a score too? The kid just makes plays.
“He’s the kind of athlete you dream about coaching,” one Buford assistant told us. “He’s versatile, smart, tough, and brings energy every time he steps on the field. The ceiling for Ethan is sky-high.”
Unsurprisingly, the University of Georgia is already showing early interest. Kirby Smart and company are known for getting a head start on in-state talent, especially those with elite upside—and Hauser fits that mold perfectly. UGA staff have made several trips to Buford this offseason, and while offers for the class aren’t official yet, the groundwork is clearly being laid.
“Georgia’s definitely watching,” a source close to the Buford program shared. “They love what they see in Ethan. He’s the kind of kid who fits their system and culture—hard worker, team-first guy, and a flat-out athlete.”
If Hauser’s name sounds like it belongs in red and black, you’re not alone. Buford has been a familiar hunting ground for the Dawgs over the years. From Jake Fromm to Isaiah Bond and Justice Haynes, the Wolves have produced elite prospects who’ve either landed in Athens or been heavily recruited by UGA.
Hauser could be next in line.
He’s still got plenty of time to develop—three full seasons of high school ball, camps, and growth ahead—but if his freshman season is any indication, this is a player who’s going to be in the spotlight sooner rather than later. His position flexibility (WR, DB, returner) only adds to his value, and that’s exactly the kind of Swiss Army knife Georgia loves on both sides of the ball.
So, Dawg fans, remember the name: Ethan Hauser. The recruiting cycle may seem like a long way off, but Georgia’s already keeping tabs—and with good reason.
He’s not just a rising star. He might be the next big thing.
