An LSU basketball player has been removed from the team following domestic abuse allegations, according to WBRZ.
Senior guard Adam Benhayoune was suspended from the team on Feb. 26, a team spokesperson told WBRZ.
WBRZ obtained a restraining order request submitted on April 11 where the victim alleged that Benhayoune abused her and threatened her life.
The alleged victim stated in the request that Benhayoune would get physically violent with her and would tell other people that she “deserved to be hit,” according to WBRZ.He was suspended from the team after “allegations were brought to the attention of LSU Athletics,” a spokesperson told WBRZ. The spokesperson added that Benhayoune did not play in the team’s last four games and missed senior night.
A 19th Judicial District Court judge is set to review the restraining order request on Wednesday, April 30, court documents obtained by WBRZ said.
