AUSTIN, Texas โ Texas Softball head coach Mike White has announced the signing of Kaiah Altmeyer to the roster for the 2026 season. Altmeyer, a 2025 All-Big 12 Second Team and an NFCA All-West Third Team honoree, will be immediately eligible with one year of eligibility remaining.
An incoming senior and utility player from San Diego, Calif., Altmeyer brings a wealth of experience to the Forty Acres after starting in 113 games for Arizona from 2023-25, holding a .355/.548/.484 career slash line with 114 hits, 90 runs scored, 91 RBI and 39 extra-base hits, including 10 home runs. Starting in 105 games in the outfield across three seasons, she sports a .947 fielding percentage with 123 putouts and three assists.
As a junior in 2025, she started in all 61 games for the Wildcats, split between 44 starts in right field and 17 starts in left field. She played an integral role in Arizona’s offense, carrying a 1.053 OPS with a .365/.575 /.478 slash line and ranking second on the team with 66 hits and 42 walks. In addition, she was third on the team in RBI (55), on-base percentage (.478) and multi-hit games (16). Her six stolen bases (6-of-8) were the fourth-most on the team. She earned Arizona’s first-ever Big 12 Player of the Week honor on Feb. 11 following her standout performance at the Candrea Classic, where she posted a .667 batting average, five doubles and a 1.000 slugging percentage. Altmeyer also led Arizona with seven walks and a .773 on-base percentage during the tournament. The right fielder walked off then-No. 11 Alabama with a three-run double to secure the run-rule victory for Arizona.
As a sophomore in 2024, Altmeyer appeared in 50 games with 30 starts in right and eight as the designated player. She hit .333 with a .418 on-base percentage, a .528 slugging percentage and .941 OPS. Additionally, she connected on 35 hits with 27 runs scored, 27 RBI, five home runs, four doubles and six stolen bases. She struck out just seven times in 106 at-bats and drew 16 walks. During her freshman campaign in 2023, she saw action in 26 games with 14 starts in the outfield, notching a .382 batting average, .447 on-base percentage, .471 slugging percentage and .918 OPS.
