Just days after leading Ohio State to a national championship, quarterback Will Howard found himself in an entirely new spotlight this time for a Dr Pepper commercial. While the commercial may have boosted his fame, it certainly gave his Buckeyes teammates plenty of material for some good-natured teasing.
Howard posted the commercial on Instagram, where he shows off his modeling skills, wearing a Dr Pepper jacket and flashing winks and smiles while sipping the beverage. However, it didn’t take long for his teammates to weigh in with some playful jabs.
Offensive lineman Luke Montgomery humorously remarked, You better have gotten paid a lot for this. Tight end Patrick Gurd chimed in with, What in the Zoolander is this? a nod to the comedy film about a fashion model. Incoming five-star recruit Tavien St. Clair wasnt sure what to make of it, asking, What did I just watch?Wide receiver Nolan Baudo, while not the biggest Dr Pepper fan, had his own take, commenting, I mean yeah, don’t even really like Dr Pepper but sign me tf up.
Even head coach Ryan Days son, RJ, joined in, saying, This video sums you up as a person perfectly.
Despite the playful ribbing, Howard may have earned a nice paycheck for the commercial, showing that fame and NIL deals come with their share of fun moments. The Dr Pepper commercial is just the latest chapter in the company’s ongoing relationship with college football, adding to its popular Fansvill ads and the widely discussed Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway competition.
