Ohio State Extends Offers to Two Quarterback Prospects, Continues Recruiting Visits

As the recruiting dead period approaches, Ohio State’s coaching staff has been making the most of the time remaining. On Thursday, the Buckeyes extended offers to two new quarterback prospects from different recruiting classes while also continuing their visits to top players across the country.

Bowe Bentley (2026) Receives Offer from Ohio State

Ohio State is still evaluating its options for the 2026 class quarterback and has turned to Bowe Bentley, a highly regarded prospect from Texas. Bentley, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound athlete, currently holds nearly 30 offers, with Ohio State becoming the latest to join the list. Ranked No. 291 nationally and the 18th-best quarterback by 247Sports Composite, Bentley has already attracted attention from programs such as Arizona, Florida State, and Oklahoma. Ohio State offer is a significant addition to his growing list, signaling the Buckeyes serious interest in adding him to their future roster.

Though the Buckeyes have a top commitment in the 2025 class and another strong recruit in 2027, the 2026 quarterback class remains somewhat uncertain. Bentley’s offer is an important step for Ohio State as they continue to search for the right fit for their program in that year.

Wonderful Monds (2028) Offered by Ohio State Early

Looking even further ahead, Ohio State has also made an early move for Wonderful Monds, a promising quarterback prospect from Florida in the 2028 class. Monds, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound freshman from Vero Beach, already holds offers from several major programs, including Auburn, Florida, and Texas A&M. Ohio State offer to Monds is not the first he has received, but it is likely one of the most prestigious, given the Buckey reputation for developing quarterbacks.

There is plenty of time before Monds will be ranked by 247Sports, and even more before he makes a decision. However, Ohio State’s early involvement gives them a strong opportunity to stay in the race for his commitment in the coming years.

Recruiting Visits and Updates

Ohio State coaches have been busy visiting key targets across the country. Brian Hartline traveled to Florida to meet with Jabari Brady, a four-star receiver ranked No. 62 nationally. Brady, who is ranked 11th among receivers by 247Sports Composite, holds nearly 40 offers, with Ohio State remaining one of his top choices.

Coach Ryan Day also visited Vero Beach, not only to offer Monds but also to check in with Micah Smith, a four-star offensive line target. Smith, a 6-foot-5, 305-pound prospect, is ranked No. 73 nationally and is considered one of the best offensive line recruits in the 2026 class. Ohio State is prioritizing Smith as they work to add depth and talent to their offensive line for the upcoming recruiting cycle.
