Ohio State Delays Spring Practice Start After Extended 2024 Season

After the longest college football season in history, the Ohio State football team will begin Spring practice later than usual in 2025. Their 16-game season culminated in a national championship victory over Notre Dame, leaving them with less time to rest compared to teams that finished their season months earlier.

Head coach Ryan Day acknowledges the importance of addressing the rest disadvantage and has decided to delay Spring practice, which will now start after Ohio State’s Spring Break. This will push back the start date, with practices likely beginning the week of March 17th. The Spring Game will also be postponed, potentially a week later than last year’s date of April 15th.

Although fans will have to wait longer to see Julian Sayin take first-team reps, the Buckeyes’ preparations will remain intense as they replace several key starters for the 2025 season.
