“NORTH MECK STAR ISAIAH EVANS LAUNCHES FIRST YOUTH BASKETBALL CAMP WITH D4G HOOPS”…
Huntersville, NC — Local basketball standout Isaiah Evans is giving back to the community that raised him—this time, not with a slam dunk, but with a whistle and a clipboard.
Evans, a proud alumnus of North Mecklenburg High School and one of the area’s most electric basketball talents, kicked off his first-ever youth basketball camp this weekend in partnership with D4G Hoops, drawing dozens of eager young athletes looking to learn from one of their own.
The camp, held at a packed local gym, focused on fundamental skills, team play, and the mental approach to the game—all delivered with Evans’ signature energy and passion.
> “I just wanted to give back to the community that’s always supported me,” Evans said. “These kids remind me of myself growing up. If I can inspire even one of them to chase their dreams, it’s all worth it.”
Participants ranged from elementary to middle school ages and got the chance to train alongside Evans, who made sure to be hands-on—demonstrating drills, offering encouragement, and even jumping into a few scrimmages.
Organized by D4G Hoops, a program known for developing grassroots talent and building character through sport, the camp also featured guest coaches and motivational talks aimed at helping young athletes grow both on and off the court.
> “Isaiah’s journey is a testament to what’s possible with hard work and focus,” said a D4G Hoops representative. “He’s not just a great player—he’s a great example.”
With more events possibly on the horizon, this debut camp could be the beginning of a new chapter for Evans—not just as a player, but as a mentor and community leader.
