Before that, he spent four years as the defensive backs coach at Indiana University. Jones also has experience coaching at the high school level, where he served as the defensive coordinator at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
Jones is a former player himself, having played defensive back at the University of Alabama from 1997 to 2000. He was a two-time All-SEC selection and helped lead the Crimson Tide to a Southeastern Conference championship in 1999.
