Texas Longhorns wide receiver and NFL Draft prospect Isaiah Bond has filed a defamation lawsuit against a woman who accused him of sexual assault. Bond turned himself in to Frisco, Texas, police on April 10 and was later released. He strongly denied the allegations, stating that the encounter was consensual and calling the accusations “patently false.”
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for Northern Texas, seeks economic damages and requests a civil trial. Bond’s legal team alleges that the woman knowingly made false statements to police, severely damaging his reputation and career prospects.
Before the controversy, Bond was expected to be picked in the second or third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, which takes place April 24–26. However, due to the legal issues, experts now predict he could fall to the fifth or even sixth round.
Bond played two seasons at Alabama before transferring to Texas, where he recorded over 1,400 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. At his Pro Day, he clocked a blazing 4.34-second 40-yard dash, further highlighting his NFL potential.
The final outcome of the lawsuit—and the public’s response—could significantly shape Bond’s future in professional football.
