OL coach John Garrison was by Miami Southridge on Monday to reconnect with the top
Ole Miss, under the guidance of head coach Lane Kiffin, has also made significant strides in recruiting Miret. After extending an offer in January, the Rebels hosted Miret for an unofficial visit in March, which reportedly elevated their standing in the race for Miret. The Ole Miss staff recently conducted an in-home visit with Miret and have scheduled an official visit for June 13-15. Nebraska is equally invested in Miret’s recruitment, with an official visit planned for June 6-8.For Miami, securing Miret’s commitment would be another major win in the 2026 recruiting class. The Hurricanes received a commitment from Jackson Cantwell on Tuesday. At the time of the commitment, Cantwell was the No. 3 player according to 247sports and is still the top player in the nation for On3.
As Miret prepares for his senior season, it will be interesting to see how hard Miami pushes for his services after getting Cantwell to commit. As of right now, it seems as though Ole Miss might have a bit of an edge. The Hurricanes also have commitments from 4-star OL Ben Congdon, 3-star IOL Joel Ervin, and 3-star IOL JJ Sparks for 2026. Miami currently has the No. 1 recruiting class in the ACC and the 8th-best 2026 class in the country, per On3.
