Nebraska football QB commit apologizes to Illinois fans for ceremony pump fake

Nebraska football quarterback commit Trae Taylor has apologized to Illinois fans for a stunt during his commitment ceremony. Taylor, a four-star QB recruit from Illinois, had initially picked up an Illinois hat during the ceremony, only to toss it aside and choose a Nebraska hat instead. This move was widely criticized by fans and players, including Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer, who called Taylor a “cornball, no pun intended”.

The backlash prompted Taylor to issue an apology on social media, acknowledging that his actions were “very disrespectful”. Taylor’s apology comes after fans and analysts slammed him for his perceived disrespect towards the Illinois program.
