Sullivan Named Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week

Starkville, MS – Mississippi State’s own Noah Sullivan has earned the prestigious John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week honor, as announced by the College Baseball Foundation on Tuesday. This recognition comes on the heels of an exceptional week for the junior standout, who played a pivotal role in the Bulldogs’ undefeated streak, highlighted by a Southeastern Conference series sweep against Kentucky during Super Bulldog Weekend.

Sullivan’s contributions were significant both at the plate and on the mound. Offensively, the Orlando, Florida native batted a solid .333, tallying two doubles and three RBIs. He also demonstrated excellent plate discipline, drawing four walks and scoring five crucial runs, leading to an impressive .529 on-base percentage. His consistent ability to get on base has now stretched to an impressive 31 consecutive games.

Beyond his offensive prowess, Sullivan showcased his talent on the mound in a midweek matchup against Memphis. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound right-hander delivered a dominant performance, pitching three shutout innings while striking out five batters and allowing only a single baserunner.

This week’s accolades further solidify Sullivan’s importance to the Mississippi State squad. He currently leads the team in several key offensive categories, including 13 doubles and 48 runs scored. His .478 on-base percentage also tops the Bulldogs, and he ranks second in hits (55), home runs (11), and RBIs (37).

On the pitching side, Sullivan has made seven midweek starts this season, boasting an impressive 1.96 earned run average across 18 1/3 innings. He has recorded 15 strikeouts while issuing only three walks, demonstrating his control and effectiveness on the rubber.
