Mouhamed Dioubate officially signed with Kentucky. He’s a Cat.

One of Kentucky‘s recent transfer portal additions made his move to Lexington official. Mouhamed Dioubate, the Wildcats’ new forward from the University of Alabama, officially signed with Kentucky. On3’s own Pete Nakos shared the news of Dioubate putting pen to paper on Wednesday.

Dioubate committed to Kentucky on Monday, adding much-needed defense, rebounding, and toughness to next year’s roster. The former top-100 recruit came off the bench in all 37 of Alabama’s games in 2024-25, averaging 7.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists while shooting 61.7 percent from the field, 46.2 percent from 3 (12-26 overall), and 60.9 percent from the free throw line.

He was a thorn in Kentucky’s side in his sophomore year with the Crimson Tide, especially in Tuscaloosa. Dioubate played a big role in holding Otega Oweh to Oweh’s worst game of the year, when Oweh scored only two points in Kentucky’s road loss. If you can’t beat ’em, take ’em. Hopefully, Oweh and Dioubate will be teammates in 2025-26. We know now Dioubate is locked in, thanks to Nakos’ report.

There are currently 12 players on next year’s roster, barring any new departures from last year’s team. Mark Pope still wants to add at least a shooter to the mix. Lamar Wilkerson, Jaron Pierre Jr., Wesley Yates, and Alvaro Folgueiras are four targets that Pope has on Kentucky’s board, among many others he has kept quiet.
