Mississippi’s Gridiron Giants: Ole Miss and Mississippi State Locked in Fierce Battle for Top In-State Offensive Linemen

The recruiting trail in Mississippi is heating up as Ole Miss and Mississippi State go head-to-head for the state’s top offensive line talent, setting up a fierce battle that could shape the future of both SEC programs.

Mississippi State recently landed a major commitment from four-star offensive tackle Emanuel Tucker, a 6-foot-7, 285-pound standout from New Albany. Tucker chose the Bulldogs over offers from Ole Miss, Miami, Auburn, and Tennessee, citing a strong relationship with MSU’s coaching staff.

However, the Bulldogs were dealt a blow when four-star interior lineman Mario Nash Jr. decommitted from Mississippi State. Nash, ranked among the top 10 players in Mississippi and one of the top interior linemen nationally, reopened his recruitment after a visit to Florida State—throwing his future back into play.

Meanwhile, Ole Miss is turning up the heat on its recruiting trail. The Rebels are preparing to host five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo from Texas for an official visit. Ojo, a top-20 player nationally, is also considering top-tier programs like Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, and Oklahoma.

Additionally, Ole Miss is in pursuit of four-star offensive lineman Bryson Cooley from Laurel, Mississippi. Cooley has drawn interest from across the SEC, with LSU currently leading in his recruitment, but Ole Miss is making a strong push to bring him home.

With both programs battling for supremacy and future dominance in the trenches, Mississippi’s recruiting war is far from over. Fans should expect more twists, turns, and drama as National Signing Day approaches.
