EAST LANSING, MI – Michigan State University has officially greenlit a $28 million upgrade to Spartan Stadium, ushering in a new era of comfort, innovation, and excitement for Spartans fans ahead of the 2025 football season.
The renovation project, approved by MSU’s Board of Trustees, focuses on enhancing both the technology and amenities at the iconic venue. Among the headline upgrades are three state-of-the-art video boards set to replace the aging displays by August 2025—just in time for the Spartans’ season opener against Western Michigan.
The West Tower will also receive a significant facelift, with modernization efforts targeting the 4th, 7th, and 8th floors. Fans can expect upgraded luxury suites and club seating, ADA-compliant restrooms, sleek new flooring, and improved concession areas.
“This investment marks our commitment to not only our football program but to the fans who bring Spartan Stadium to life,” said an MSU Athletics spokesperson. “We’re creating a game-day experience that blends tradition with forward-thinking upgrades.”
MSU also announced that this renovation is just the beginning. Plans are underway for a comprehensive stadium modernization strategy that includes expanded concourses, enhanced safety features, and overall structural improvements.
The renovations are expected to wrap before kickoff in late August 2025. For full details, visit msuspartans.com.
