LUBBOCK, TX — Michael Crabtree, the name that still sends chills down every Longhorn spine and sparks cheers across Raiderland, is back in the spotlight — and this time, it’s not for snagging another game-winning touchdown.
The Texas Tech icon and two-time Biletnikoff Award winner has donated two state-of-the-art luxury buses to the Red Raiders football team, and fans are calling it “the most Michael Crabtree move ever.”
The announcement dropped during what was supposed to be a routine team meeting. Instead, the doors flew open, music blasted through the facility, and two all-black, chrome-detailed buses wrapped in “Wreck ‘Em” graphics and Crabtree’s silhouette rolled onto the practice field — with Crabtree himself standing on top, holding a Red Raiders flag high.
> “If you’re gonna go to war on the field,” Crabtree said, “you better show up like you already won. These buses are for Red Raiders who play to dominate — just like we did.”
“Crab Cruisers” Turn Heads
These aren’t buses — they’re rolling monuments to one of the most electric players in college football history:
Crimson-and-black leather seats with “Crab Mode” stitched into the headrests
Touchscreen film review hubs and VR route simulators
Massage chairs, cold plunge tubs, and recovery pods
Built-in Bose sound system playing hype tracks and game-winning calls
Crabtree’s iconic 2008 game-winning TD vs. Texas playing on loop at the entry screen
Wi-Fi and “Wreck ‘Em” lighting that pulses when music hits
Players have already dubbed them “The Crab Cruisers.”
Joey McGuire Reacts
Head coach Joey McGuire was all smiles.
> “Michael Crabtree changed the game when he played. And now, he’s changed how we arrive to the game,” McGuire said. “This is legacy, swagger, and Red Raider energy — all on wheels.”
He added with a grin, “We’ve got the nicest rides in the Big 12. And that’s just facts.”
Team & Fans FIRED UP
Wide receiver Jerand Bradley said, “This is wild. Crabtree’s one of the reasons I came here. Now we’re riding in his name? Motivation turned up to 1,000.”
Social media took off instantly:
> “Crabtree gave Tech TWO LUXURY BUSES?! Game over!”
“Texas Tech just got the Crabmobile. SEC, you ready?”
“The king of clutch still feeding the program. GOAT stuff.”
The Legend Lives On
Crabtree dominated college football from 2007–2008, leading the nation in receiving and turning Texas Tech into must-watch TV. That unforgettable moment in 2008 — when he tiptoed down the sideline and took down No. 1 Texas — is now immortalized, again, with this gift.
> “This is for every Red Raider who ever dreamed big, worked hard, and played with heart,” Crabtree said. “Let’s ride into this season like it’s a championship run — because that’s exactly what it can be.”
The Red Raiders aren’t just rolling deep in 2025 — they’re rolling in Crabtree-approved style.
