At the MotoGP Jerez test, Marc Marquez gave an explanation for his desire to try a new brake on the Ducati GP23.
On Monday, he experimented with a thumb brake on the left handlebar.
Marquez told Sky Italia, “I’ve been used to braking in one way for 12 years, so it’s difficult to adapt in just one day.”
Gresini’s star rider tested a crucial piece, which Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi explained as follows: “Marc has never engaged the thumb brake at the back.
“Although we think it’s crucial for controlling the bike during acceleration, especially when riding a Ducati,”I’ve made several attempts. At Le Mans, we’re not using the thumb brake.
“It is my preference to proceed using my [foot brake] since I am sensitive enough.”
