The 22-year-old has flourished in Serie A after having suffering at a bigger club in the form of Bayern Munich, and it’s possible that he’ll soon earn the chance to win another major move.
According to journalist Eleonora Trotta, Manchester United are now showing a strong interest in Zirkzee, who also claims that the Netherlands Under-21 international has a €40 million release clause, which will surely be appealing to the Red Devils and other top clubs as it could end up looking like a bargain if he continues to develop and fulfill his immense potential.
It remains to be seen if MUFC will be successful in their pursuit of Zirkzee, but fans will no doubt be hoping that the new investment from Sir Jim Ratcliffe signals a bit more ambition and a sharper transfer plan.
United is having a difficult season, and it would be prudent to reinforce in January, even if Financial Fair Play constraints may limit what the club can do until the summer.
