Maddyn Greenway is Kentucky WBB’s highest-ranked commit since 2013
It goes without saying, but Kentucky women’s basketball commit Maddyn Greenway is really, really good. However, she’s even better than most folks have given her credit for in the past.
With Georgia Amoore taking her talent to the WNBA, it would be great to have the 5-foot-8 prodigy step into her role immediately, but she won’t arrive in Lexington until the 2026-27 season. Of course, Georgia Tech transfer Tonie Morgan should be a more than fine filler at the one until we get to that point.
The 2026 class is is pretty guard-heavy, but even still, Greenway is among the best of the best in that class. ESPN/HoopGurlz recently updated their rankings — including their 2026 Super 60. The rankings seem to confirm just how good the Minnesota native really is.
Greenway is now listed as a five-star and the No. 10 overall recruit in the 2026 class, making her Kentucky’s highest-ranked commit since Linnae Harper (2013).
Back in November, she picked the Cats over Stanford, UCLA, Duke, Clemson and Iowa. Both of her parents were former Hawkeyes, but she wanted to create her own legacy elsewhere.
“I’ve been a Hawkeye fan my whole life, with both my parents having gone there,” Greenway told KSR when she committed to Kentucky. “Obviously, with my dad, I’ve lived in Minnesota my whole life, and I’ve always been under his shadow, so I just wanted to make my own path.”
“I’m just really excited to be there,” she later added. “Coach Brooks is building something special down there, and I just can’t wait to be a part of it.”
Big Blue Nation can’t wait either, Maddyn.
