LOCKED IN: Titans RB Tyjae Spears Laser-Focused and Ready to Explode in Year 3
NASHVILLE, TN — With the offseason dust settling and training camp just around the corner, Tyjae Spears is showing every sign that Year 3 could be the one where he explodes into the national spotlight.
The dynamic Titans running back, fresh off a solid sophomore campaign, has been quietly grinding behind the scenes. While much of the spotlight remains on backfield mate Tony Pollard, Spears is embracing the role of the silent assassin — focused, driven, and fully locked in on making 2025 his breakout year.
“I’ve got nothing to prove to anybody — except myself,” Spears told reporters this week. “This is the year I stop talking and just go to work.”
After racking up over 900 total yards and 4 touchdowns last season, Spears enters Year 3 stronger, faster, and more mentally tuned than ever before. His footwork looks crisper, his hands more reliable, and most importantly, his understanding of the offense is on another level.
“He’s a different beast now,” said offensive coordinator Nick Holz. “His maturity, his vision — it’s all sharper. He wants to be great, and it shows.”
Teammates have also noticed the shift. Quarterback Will Levis praised Spears’ offseason work ethic, calling him “one of the most prepared guys in the locker room.”
With the Titans offense in transition and seeking new playmakers to emerge, Spears is primed to become a key weapon in both the run and passing game.
He’s not just ready for what’s next — he’s demanding it.
And if his offseason attitude is any indication, the rest of the league might want to brace for what’s coming out of Nashville: Tyjae Spears, unleashed.
