Liverpool ‘bombshell’: Euro heavyweights eye ‘quick signing’ to ‘take advantage’ of post-Klopp agony.

According to sources, Real Madrid are trying to ‘take advantage’ of Jurgen Klopp’s departure from Liverpool by attempting to recruit Virgil van Dijk.

Klopp stated late last week that he will quit Liverpool at the conclusion of the current season, following nine years as manager.

This has sparked conjecture about who may succeed the former Borussia Dortmund manager at Liverpool, as well as suspicions regarding Klopp’s next destination.

Liverpool might undergo significant changes this summer, as Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger left Manchester United and Arsenal, respectively, with the futures of some of Klopp’s key players uncertain.

Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all in the final 18 months of their Liverpool contracts, and several of Klopp’s regulars are expected to go.

According to Spanish daily Fichajes, Real Madrid has placed a ‘bombshell’ on Liverpool by aiming to ‘take advantage’ of any possible post-Klopp agony by pursuing a transfer for Van Dijk.

It is said that the La Liga giants will “go for his.”

Van Dijk, one of the greatest centre-backs in the Premier League since joining the Reds from Southampton in 2018, is the defender Real Madrid ‘needs’ and will ‘seek to make a splash next summer trying to secure his services’.

On Monday, the Netherlands international cast doubt on his future at Liverpool after stating that Klopp will leave Anfield in the summer.

“The club will have a big job on their hands, that is well known,” Van Dijk told the club’s supporters. “To replace not only the management, but the entire staff, and there will be so many changes.

More News:  Arsenal and Liverpool are expressing significant interest in signing Bayern Munich star.

“I’m quite intrigued about the course that will go, but until that is released, we’ll see where we stand.

“It will be the end.”

“For the boss, it (the Norwich game) was a little different, but for us, it was about ensuring we advanced to the next round with certain players returning from injury, and now we’re focusing on Wednesday.

“We may talk about the issue, about what will happen next year, every week, but it doesn’t change; it’s unnecessary noise, which is why we focus on getting the work done, and why I believe nothing has changed.

“It is still the same but at the end of the season there will be different things happening of course, but that is for the club to sort out.”
